SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Christopher Glass & Aluminum (CGA) Senior Project Manager (SPM is an important role within the Operations Management team. The position of Senior Project Manager provides a fantastic experience in project management, vendor management, blueprint reading, relationship building, schedule management, lessons learned management, cost controls, paperwork management, and change order management. The Senior Project Manager is a highly competent multi-task capable individual with an enthusiastic and self-motivated demeanor, managing all aspects of exterior façade construction. The Project Manager requires strong construction, leadership, organizational and diplomacy skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The SPM will track and record field labor production and will modify or innovate to meet budgets and schedules.

The SPM will submit and track material samples for approval by the architectural design team.

The SPM will have familiarization with project specifications.

The SPM will be familiar with the job specific safety manual and the customers safety Program.

The SPM will oversee production of shop drawings for architectural review and approval.

The SPM will understand the requirements, options and safety regarding lift equipment.

The SPM will proactively coordinate with the GC, other trades and adjacent construction to allow uninterrupted flow of materials and manpower.

The SPM will oversee production of component drawings for material fabrication.

The SPM is responsible for tracking and scheduling material, manpower and equipment orders.

The SPM will prepare estimates and implement changes required by the owner, architect or general contractor.

The SPM will attend or delegate attendance of weekly site and safety meetings.

The SPM will address punch lists and coordinate job close-out documents.

The SPM will be the lead in dissemination of tool box talks and job hazard analysis.

The SPM will participate in Training and Educational Seminars and Classes as opportunities present themselves or as required by Management.

The SPM may be asked to mentor new hires in our field operations department.

The SPM will adapt, overcome and improvise as unforeseen obstacles present themselves in order to maintain the project schedule.

The SPM will report to work in what is considered proper jobsite attire and represent Christopher Glass & Aluminum in a professional appearance and manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position occasionally requires hours outside of normal business hours as well as weekend work.
TRAVEL
Some overnight travel is expected for this position. There may be occasional local day travel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree relating to project managing, architecture, engineering, construction managing degree or

5 years+ of project managing experience

Experience with glass curtain wall, storefront, metal panels, louvers and ornamental facades
-
Fluent in English to a very high standard and possess strong communication skills, as liaison with clients, colleagues and subordinates

An understanding of building construction techniques and sequencing

OSHA Safety training and certifications

Auto-CAD knowledge

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support project managers, superintendents and field personnel.

Assist with planning and implementation of company projects and tasks associated

Assist with client interaction and promote a positive partnering relationship among all team members associated

Become familiar with Project Specifications

Assist with submission of shop drawings and product data for GC/architect review.

Create Purchase Orders for material procurement.

Assist with project team and perform weekly site visits

Begin Managing projects with oversite from their direct supervisor.

Establish project objectives and, procedures that can measure performance standards that align with company policy and contract specifications.

Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures and troubleshoot issues that present themselves.

Document labor hours for production and modify to meet budgets and schedules.

Mentor New Hires.

Understand the requirements, options and safety regarding lift equipment.

Prepare estimates with the estimating department and implement changes (COR) required by the owner, architect or general contractor.

Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.

Buy out all Project specific supplies and materials to complete project.

Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.

Proactively coordinate with the GC, other trades and adjacent construction to allow uninterrupted flow of materials and manpower.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
